Click Properties, the property developer that specialises in utilisation of Modern Methods of Construction and its airspace development sister company, Click Above, have together announced that Debbie Aplin has joined as a Non-Executive Director. Her appointment comes as the firm looks towards a period of aggressive growth that will see it deliver 500 homes per year within the next five years.
Boasting a rich career which spans over 30 years, Debbie is a specialist in brownfield urban mixed use and mixed tenure schemes. At Berkeley Group she managed a variety of schemes across the London region, whilst her role as MD of Regeneration at Crest Nicholson, saw her deliver over 600 residential units per annum, many of which were award winning, as well as navigate the business through IPO.
At Click, Debbie will utilise her wealth of experience to help the team effectively capitalise on the growth opportunities ahead. She’ll also provide guidance on how to build the business strategically and in the right ways so that success can be enjoyed as painlessly as possible. She is in no doubt as to Click’s potential:
“One of the biggest challenges facing housing supply in the UK today is the comfortable marriage of affordability and quality. This is something that Click Above has truly mastered through its expertise in airspace development. However, this remains an area of development that is insufficiently understood.
“I aim, therefore, to support them to best utilise the experience that they’ve already gained so that they fully realise the opportunities ahead. They’re a young, enthusiastic and dynamic team, though, so I have every confidence that the future for Click is a very positive one and I am delighted to now be part of the team.”
Debbie’s experience successfully building companies with significant growth potential, will be fused at Click with a focus on raising awareness and appreciation of the potential of airspace development, not least amongst local authorities which hold significant property assets that they’re seeking to regenerate. Aaron Emmett, MD at Click Properties and Click Above, comments:
“Debbie’s wide-raging knowledge of housebuilding and regeneration will be invaluable to the Click team. “There is no secret of the need for quality, affordable housing across so much of London and we’ve already demonstrated that airspace development is a viable means of delivering these new homes. What Debbie will no doubt support with is enabling us to best showcase our experience to those for whom this is a very real and viable option to explore and we’re all very excited to have her on board.”
Debbie is the third Non-Executive Director to join Click. Andrew Pratt joined in 2018 with considerable experience across both the public and private residential sectors in the UK, whilst John Blyde is an advisor on matters relating to off-site and modular construction.
Fellow Non-Executive Director, Andrew Pratt, concludes:
“I am personally extremely excited with the appointment of Debbie to the Board of Click. Her wide-ranging experience and knowledge, gained from her previous senior roles within highly regarded UK national housebuilders, will add a new dimension to the business at an important time in its development.
“The continuing shortage of UK housing supply remains a key political issue and with Debbie’s industry expertise, Click will play its part in delivering affordable, well designed and quality accommodation throughout the South of England.”
